The Client

All his lifetime, Shastri was known for honesty and humility. He was the first person to be posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, and a memorial "Vijay Ghat" was built for him in Delhi. Several educational institutes, Shashtri National Academy of Administration (Mussorie) is after his name these were some examples. The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute was named after Shastri due to his role in promoting scholarly activity between India and Canada..

The Challenge

The client had their infrastructure setup on Azure and On-Premises. The challenge was managing the infrastructure at 2 different locations and higher costs of hosting the applications. Security and scaling was another concern which the client wanted to resolve apart from improving the performance of the application access to their end users.

The Solution

Anjana Cloud Services performed the discovery and assessment of their infrastructure and recommended the customer to migrate their applications to AWS from Azure and Physical Data Centre in order to resolve the issues. The migration is completed within the expected timelines of the project without impacting the production and access to their end customers. The application components of their Microsoft workloads included Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS SQL Server etc. The required AWS services such as Amazon EC2 for Windows Servers, RDS for Microsoft SQL Database, S3 for object storage, etc. have been appropriately selected and used for the architecture design and implementation. Reliability, availability and security are incorporated into the architecture making the application run smoothly and securely.

Benefits

The application stack was able to provide sustainable and secure services to the end users. Anjana Cloud Services well-designed migration strategy helped Lal Bahadur Shastri Foundation make a smooth migration of Microsoft workloads including Windows applications and SQL databases from Azure to AWS. The challenging issues such as scalability, reliability, cost and security are resolved through the use of AWS services. It resulted into meeting the business objectives of the client and also the service expectations of its end customers.
